Building Estimating Team Leader - Shepparton

This is a fantastic opportunity to Team Lead the highly successful, fast paced, busy and fun Regional North VIC Building Estimating Team based in our Shepparton Office.
Your responsibilities will include:
Allocate jobs appropriately based on your Estimators level of experience, and in doing so take advantage of the skills of individual estimatorsOrder jobs as requiredManaging purchase orders daily to ensure production remains within allocated time framesLiaising with the Manager, reporting on the status of jobs, workflow turnaround times and intended strategies for workflow improvementsSourcing suppliers and pricing for “one off itemsIdentify anomalies in standard BOQ’s and report back to relevant department and issue out amendment requestLiaise between Production Estimators and Systems Support Team to create new items in database as requiredPromote effective communication between Production Estimators, Building Support Team and Site ManagersProvide feedback to Studio, Sales Estimating and Drafting teams to improve quality of product and proceduresMaximising efficiency in timing between completion of ordering and site startManage even distribution of work between suppliers and site start requirements Quality and Margin Control / ReportingMake the necessary adjustments to work orders as required for building variations Contributing to the development and documentation of appropriate systems, procedures and processes to achieve department and company objectives; andMaximising efficiency in completing ordering of homes; andDevelop and maintain a motivated team in a good working environment.

The successful candidate will have:
At minimum a Certificate IV in Building Construction or Diploma in Building Construction is essential; a Degree in an equivalent course is an added advantage;Adequate trade background is an advantageWorking knowledge of construction processes and details is a prerequisite2+ years experience coaching and overseeing other staff’s workCompetent Microsoft Office suite computer skills, particularly in ExcelWorking knowledge of an estimating systems packageExcellent time management and communication skills are a must; andA GREAT ATTITUDE!!!
