This rare Once in a Lifetime Draftsperson role will see you working with the genuinely close group of driven professionals in our Regional North VIC Drafting Team based in our fun Kialla (Shepparton) Office. Be part of a growing department and utilise your residential drafting expertise!

Reporting to the Drafting Team Leader, your responsibilities will include:

Produce drawings using CAD/Revit for: site plans, design solution sketches, sales plans, working drawings, variations, council plans and final construction drawings

Complete all drawings in accordance with design and construction details dictated by Building Code of Australia, local authority requirements and relevant planning requirements

Ensure all drawings are completed with 100% accuracy to reflect customer requirements as described in the sales estimate, as well as in accordance with Metricon and building standards

Produce drawings to support stages of the workflow process to reflect requirements and to incorporate amendments required to obtain all relevant permits

Ensure that relationships with all internal departments, external customers, suppliers, agents and contractors are maintained and improved; and

Maintain and constantly develop thorough knowledge of Metricon products, services and processes in order to complete work confidently.

The successful candidate will have:

Formal qualifications in Architectural Drafting (Diploma or higher) would be an advantage

Minimum 2 years residential drafting experience ideally within the volume residential building industry

Competent and experienced with AutoCAD and Revit in residential drafting (essential)

Good understanding of relevant codes and Australian standards, regulations and design guidelines

An understanding of residential construction and the construction process

Understanding of Australian standards, NCC, RESCODE

Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

Be committed to the role, willing to cater to the clients high expectations

The ability to communicate professionally, prioritise and meet deadlines; and

Implement a high level of attention to detail and a proactive approach to all tasks undertaken.
