Network Engineer - Shared Services - IT

Located at our vibrant Head Office, you will, as a Network Engineer be responsible for supporting Metricon’s networks and connectivity across our many sites - both LAN and WAN.
Working with a dedicated team, you will maintain the security, availability and performance of Metricon's network - maximizing uptime, resilience and performance.
Reporting to the Technology Lead, your responsibilities will include:
Supporting the identification of technology requirements as they relate to the network for optimisation the existing infrastructureRecommend network design changes and contribute to (or lead as required) high level and low-level design documentationBe proud of the relationships you maintain and ensure that the relationships with all business functions (customer), external customers, suppliers, agents and contractors are maintained and improvedProvide technical expertise for network related activities, for both operational and strategic mattersCoordinate security applications and ensure compliance across servers and end user computersConduct technical vulnerability assessments of IT systems and processesManage risk and work proactively to identify and manage problems within the infrastructure systemsImplement counter measures or mitigating controls to known risks and threatsRecognise that the business operates 7 days a week, weekends are critical for display homes to operate technology and there is a need to be responsive on a roster system for after hours and weekend assistanceFollow the change and release management process, ensure all changes are recorded, categorized, risk assessed, planned, tested, validated and implemented.

The successful candidate will have:
Bachelor qualification in Computer Science, engineering or related discipline8-10 years’ experience in IT and 6 years supporting networks in a complex environment in terms diverse locations and an environment with 1500+usersExperience across the delivery of major technology projectsExperience working with managed services and multiple suppliersMust possess Cisco certifications, ideally CCIE, but CCNP as a minimumExcellent hands on knowledge of and demonstrated experience with, Velocloud SDWAN, Office Wi-Fi, along with the suite of Cisco routers and switches, Microsoft Office suite, Cloud Services, Data Centre networking, NetFlow, Solar Winds, and SNMP Excellent knowledge of Network Quality of Service configuration and ongoing managementAbility to perform technical analysis on the following technologies and concepts - DSL, ATM, Async, Gigabit EthernetExperience with Queuing - Marking, queuing, shaping and policing, specific router and switch CLI commands to analyse and troubleshoot QoS related issues.Must be experienced in Platform specific Qos - MLS QosExperience with Wifi - 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac conceptsAn understanding of Wifi QoS and limitationsExperience NetFlow and NBAR conceptsStrong knowledge of routing protocols - OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, and Policy based routingExperience with traffic statistics analysis - SolarWinds, Velocloud SDWAN, Service provider data/Vendor data Experience with Radius and TACACS+ integration with Network infrastructureAn understanding of Service provider PE and CE key conceptsAn understanding of Network infrastructure access and securityHands on experience with IPSLA - Voice specific An understanding of Voice design and implementation concepts Extensive and demonstrated knowledge of IT Infrastructure, including LAN and WAN ServicesHigh-level communications and stakeholder liaison and management skills to engage various Metricon business areas
