This full time role is for a passionate individual, who thrives on creativity, agility and commitment to excellence. You will work closely under our Product Design Lead, gaining hands on experience and mentorship as you develop your skills. We’re a Revit based office, so you will be producing design documentation in Revit and contributing to design discussions.

You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams and make a meaningful influence. Leverage on your creativity and design expertise to recommend intuitive design solutions and stay current with trend.
Reporting to the Product Design Lead, your responsibilities will include:
  • Learn to take on design concepts and implement the idea/s across the product range
  • Produce design documentation that addresses the design brief and in alignment with product and display delivery programs
  • Understand, recognise and implement design standards and processes
  • Positively support and foster the continual improvements on product designs
  • Learn how to resolve design related queries that may arise from Display, Masters, Operations and other disciplines within the business
  • Be involved with managing the design and documentation of all aspects of the home which may include – site plans, floor plans, facades, elevations, internals, design options, relevant details, and DOL/other forms of schedules
  • Keep up-to-date and adhere to national building codes and regulations
  • Aware of the procedures for obtaining permits and approvals for construction projects
  • Stay on trend and current with residential design trends, latest building products and emerging technologies to drive innovation
  • Meet set deadlines and contribute actively to individual and team workflow, reporting and time management; and
  • Problem solve and contribute positively to the solution of product designs.

  • The successful candidate will have:
  • Relevant degree or diploma in Building Design & Drafting, Diploma of Architectural Drafting or equivalent
  • A good eye for design and attention to detail in documentation, along with a solid understanding of building codes and construction techniques
  • An all rounder who is eager to work on multiple project types and switch tasks as needed
  • Is committed to achieving deadlines and follows up on project tasks to keep things moving
  • Proficiency in design software and tools relating to house design. Preference for CAD skills in REVIT
  • Has a portfolio showcasing innovative and creative residential designs, demonstrating an understanding of user-centred design principles
  • Some experience in the residential volume home building industry in a design and/or drafting capacity is highly preferred
  • Proficiency with current versions Microsoft Office suite, and an aptitude for learning new systems
  • Knowledge of building and planning codes and standards
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, thriving in a team-orientated environment; and
