This is a rare opportunity for a driven, experienced and productive Drafting Manager to be based in our Parkside Office and manage the Drafting team’s production of all customer drawings in accordance with company guidelines to meet accuracy, quality, quantity and time targets. Set and maintain the standard for The Drafting team, including adhering to procedures, developing staff, including remote teams and making recommendations for improvements to productivity. This Drafting Manager will be responsible for the divisions of Town Living (Medium Density), STC / Fast Track (Home Solution / ABC Homes).
Reporting to the Operations Manager, your responsibilities will include:
  • Lead and support the Drafting Team and remote resources to produce all drawings and plans, while ensuring these meet the set quality, quantity and time targets
  • Develop and foster a team culture that is positive, collaborative and reflects a can-do attitude
  • Manage the production of drawings for Preliminary Contracts, Contracts, Variations and FC’s daily to ensure production within allowed timeframes, and in the event that jobs are not likely to be produced on time, ensure the relevant stakeholders are advised well ahead
  • Liaise with the Operation Manager on workflow using applicable reports from the document control management system
  • Provide support and solutions to the Sales teams to resolve design complications
  • Working collaboratively with Operations Manager to manage changes in forecasts, ensuring the customer needs are maintained
  • Lead, motivate and performance manage all staff in your team to ensure maximum productivity from each team member
  • Ensure drafting staff are competent and knowledgeable with all software, IT systems, products, codes, standards and Policies applicable to the Drafting team
  • Liaise with the Operations Manager to resolve any issues requiring the customer’s involvement or clarification
  • Collate information relating to errors and inconsistencies in master drawings to provide feedback on the accuracy; and
  • Ensure that the relationships with all internal departments, external customers, suppliers, agents and contractors are maintained and improved.

  • The successful candidate will have:
  • Formal qualification in Architecture or Architectural Drafting (Diploma of higher) as minimum requirement
  • Minimum of 10 years drafting experience, preferably within the volume residential building industry
  • Competent in the use of AutoCad/Revit, and Enscape is preferred
  • Minimum 3 years (management/supervisory) of people management in a fast paced, time critical customer-oriented environment
  • Ability to lead and support a cohesive team, while being able to provide professional and constructive feedback to customers and staff/peers
  • Highly developed communication and time management/prioritisation skills
  • Highly organised – ability to multi-task and deal with a variety of activities
  • A thorough knowledge of building and planning regulations; and
  • Intermediate Microsoft Suite computer skills.
