National Compliance Manager - Product Development

Based out of our stylish Mount Waverley office, this new and exciting opportunity will help shape the future of our homes. As a key technical leader, you’ll provide expert guidance on building methodology, regulatory compliance and technical documentation.
Your recommendations will drive best practice, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness, all while maintaining strict compliance with regulatory requirements and company construction standards. Reporting to the National Product Commercialisation Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Review and implement all National Regulation and Standard changesIdentify and monitor areas of non-compliance including recommendations for contingency planningDevelop and implement change management plans for each regulatory updateSupport and contribute to delivering new product Construction Details to the business in full and aligned with product release schedule. Undertake regular review of applicable actions listed in the strategic plan to ensure each is completed as described in the planReview of build methods and detailing and provide support to review details prior to issue to the businessAdvise of up-coming changes required to ensure continued compliance of our products and build methodsMonitor and report on the status of the implementation of business support tools, to ensure regulatory change complianceContribute ideas that improve the quality, cost effectiveness and ease of construction. Liaise with Construction & Operational teams nationallyResearch product & innovation opportunities to ensure all new initiatives meet Metricon building practicesEnsure details match construction methods used, via site visits & or liaising with Construction team, recommending changes to detailsReview all product improvements and site instructions for compliance prior to adoptionSupport the business on quality control and training of changes to compliance requirements; andConduct stakeholder meetings when required and contribute to team meetings to ensure design impact of changes to compliance requirements is understood

The successful candidate will have:
Exceptional understanding of the NCC, Australian Standards for Residential Building elements, and other building code reference documents.High level of Construction method knowledge, both practical and technicalLeadership / Confident / EnthusiasticAttention to detail Innovative mindsetTime management – planning & organisingAbility to easily build rapportExcellent communication skills (verbal, written, questioning and probing); andAbility to work autonomously and within a team environment.
