This is a highly rewarding but challenging role located in Mount Waverley within the busy IT division. The Server Engineer is responsible for supporting Metricon’s production infrastructure and the many critical business services that depend on it and deliver on all infrastructure projects and support infrastructure solutions that contribute to the success of strategic initiatives that Metricon Technology will deliver. You will design and maintain the availability, performance and security of Metricon systems and ensure the effective operation of business-as-usual infrastructure systems and support services in accordance with Service Level Agreements at Metricon.
Reporting to the Technology Lead, your responsibilities will include:
Technical and Server administration for Metricon IT InfrastructureSecond Level call escalation for customer issues and requestsDesigning, building and implementing IT infrastructureProviding timely and high quality completion of project tasks and requests; andEnsuring the IT Infrastructure environment is up to date through proactive auditing and maintenance.

The successful candidate will have:
10 years minimum in supporting IT infrastructure in a complex environment in terms of diverse locations and environments with 1500+users including both support & projects5+ years hands-on engineering experience across public cloud platforms, in particular AWSDeep technical expertise across infrastructure & platform hosting technologies in a heavily virtualised hybrid-hosting environmentDeep technical expertise across the modern Microsoft enterprise technology stackHands-on experience with deploying infrastructure as-code in an automated infrastructure deployment pipeline, as well as orchestration toolingHands-on engineering experience with the migration of systems into public cloud whether it be the "lift & shift" of infrastructure, or 'transform' migrationsExperience with engineering for resiliencyExperience with network load balancing technologies both for on-premise systems as well as public cloudEnterprise infrastructure monitoring & AlertingEnterprise IT service management including change control, incident management & problem managementExperience with project planning and participating in project teamStrong technical design, documentation & communication skillsExperience working with managed services and multiple suppliersMicrosoft Active Directory, O365, SCCM, SQL Server, DHCP, ADFS, Azure Active Directory, Sentinel One, modern server operating systems i.e. Windows Server 2019 & 2022AWS and/or Azure CertificationsMicrosoft CertificationsJira and Confluence skills preferableSkills in Disaster Recovery technologies, in a heavily virtualised environmentBackup technologies & approaches (Commvault); andBachelor qualification in Computer Science, engineering or related discipline preferred.
