Reporting to the Design Operations Lead, your responsibilities will include:
  • Based in our Mt Waverley office, you will play an integral role in supporting the development, management and evolution of our product range
  • You will work closely with Product Designers and cross-functional teams, contributing to both new and existing designs, bringing concepts to life through thoughtful documentation and detail
  • Assist in the development and documentation of home designs across the product range
  • Prepare accurate and well-resolved design documentation aligned with briefs and delivery programs
  • Contribute to floorplans, facades, site plans, internal layouts, and design options
  • Support product management activities across both current and new designs
  • Work collaboratively across teams to deliver outcomes within project timeframes
  • Develop a strong understanding of the Metricon product suite and design principles; and
  • Stay across relevant building codes, standards, and approval processes.
  • The successful candidate will have:
  • A genuine passion for residential design and creating better living environments
  • A relevant qualification in Building Design, Drafting, or similar
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a design or drafting role
  • Experience in volume residential building (highly regarded)
  • Strong capability in Revit (or similar CAD software)
  • Solid understanding of building codes and planning requirements
  • A collaborative mindset with strong communication skills; and
  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow.
